Are You Ready For 2010?

08/19/08 Update! Announced at the San Diego reunion was the location of our next reunion, the Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach. Dates are August 26, 2010 to August 29, 2010

The Cavalier hotel is not set up to take ONLINE reservations this far out; however, you can get your pick of rooms by CALLING the Cavalier reservation department at 1-800-446-8199, and tell them you are with the "August 2010 ISB Network Reunion." The hotel has two buildings: the Historic Cavalier on the Hill, and the Oceanfront Cavalier on the beach. Make sure you specify that you want a room in the Oceanfront Cavalier if you want to be amongst the large ISB group, near the pool, Teen Club, Party Suites, and other activities. (Rooms are also available in the Historic Cavalier on the Hill, and while the rooms may be somewhat larger and nicer at the same price, the drawbacks are it is a pretty good walk to the beach (uphill returning), across a 4 lane road, and a long way from the Party Suites - and remember - "partying" and driving don't mix in Va!!)

Our goal is to take over the Ocean Front facility so that is the recommended location for reservations. For late registrants, you may end up in the Historic building - so get your reservations in as soon as possible - you can always cancel later! (more)

House Games!! Organized Chaos!! Wet Swimsuits, Oh My!!

To all those stalwart folks who graciously stepped forward and competed valiantly in the House Games, to the House Captains, who doggedly corralled Team Spirit into a juggernaut of Prowess and Perfection, to the Team Players, who bravely donned swimsuits and gamely jumped into the pool, to all the House Members who vociferously cheered their Teammates on to Honor and Glory, and even to the people who couldn’t hear or follow instructions! THEME WANTED !!!

Let your imagination go and give it your best shot—your entry could be the winner and the prize is one free nightstay during the reunion! "It’s Okay Honey, You’ll Make New Friends"

Finally I can type the above without lots of tears in my eyes. Growing up I left so many friends over the years that when I left Thailand in 1967 I was sure that was the last of those friends, yet again.

What pleasure I have gotten from the ISB Network and my opportunity to reconnect with my friends from years gone by, and now the added bonus as a member of the BOD of making friends with people that I never would have taken the time to get to know except that we work together for the common goals of the ISB Network. I Got By With a Little Help From My Friends...

Lest any of you think it's embarrassing to attend a reunion with a few extra pounds, grey hair and wrinkles - you've got nothing on me!

I arrived Monday at 9 pm from Seattle with my two daughters, Roya & Roxana so we could do some touristy stuff before Wednesday when the Board of Directors kicks into gear with our first meeting and setting up the Shack, Registration and the Archives. After a quick 2 1/2 hour flight, I made my way to the closest restroom and because my nose felt stuffy, I blew it. Not quite clear so I blew it again. Wrong move: instant nosebleed.
